On September 24 I gave my first in-person talk in the USA at a major tech conference, WeAreDevelopers World Congress North America. It was the very first edition of the conference in North America, and more than 10,000 builders attended. The talk was called “The Autonomous Performance Agent: A Netflix Production Story.”
It’s about an agent my team built at Netflix. It keeps profiling live services in production and suggests code fixes for the slow spots it finds. Every fix gets validated before it goes out, so we catch wasted CPU early instead of finding it months later.
Standing in front of that many people who build and ship this stuff every day was a great experience. I met a lot of people and got plenty of good questions afterwards.
You can watch the recording on the WeAreDevelopers site.
I talked about a similar topic at the AI Engineer World’s Fair earlier this year. I wrote about that here.
